Assist. Prof. Marta Ivaylova, PhD

Marta IvaylovaMarta Ivaylova has a master’s degree in Classics (2007). She joined the Department of Classics as an assistant professor of ancient Greek literature and culture in 2011 and received her Ph.D. degree in ancient Greek religion in 2013. Her main research interests are ancient Greek civilization, and particularly religion and mythology, culture and religion in early Christianity, although she is also interested in Bulgarian dialectology and Balkan linguistics. Her teaching experience includes courses in ancient Greek language, culture and religion. She has been a fellow of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (2011) and a DAAD fellow at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (2011–2012).
