Assoc. Prof. Anna Nikolova, PhD

Anna NikolovaAnna Borislavova Nikolova has a PhD degree in literature (1976). Part-time lecturer (1962-1968), full-time assistant professor (1968-1988), Associate Professor of Roman Literature (1988, retired in 2004). Teaching experience includes courses in Roman literature, Roman culture, Medieval Latin literature, Latin syntax, Latin language and authors. Research interests focus on Roman literature and culture, Medieval Latin literature, computers in humanities. Specialised in Roman literature (Poland, Italy). From 1988 to 1990, responsible for the project for computer processing of the critical apparatus of Claudian – a bilateral Bulgarian-Italian project implemented in cooperation with the Institute for Computer Linguistics in Pisa. Participant in the joint projects of the same Institute and the Centre for Cyril and Methodius Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Science (1995-97, 1998-2000). Vice Dean of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology (1989-1993), Head of the Department of Classics (1991-1999). Presented with the Sofia University Blue Ribbon of Honour (2010).
