Anastas Gerdzhikov is a Professor of Roman literature and has a PhD degree in Philology (Ancient and Medieval Literature). Graduate of the Humboldt University in Berlin, specialised in Austria (1994) and Germany (1997). Deputy Minister of Education and Science (2001-2003), Research Fund Manager (2008-2009), Vice Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (2010-2011). Member of the editorial board of Strategies of Educational and Scientific Policy Magazine. Teaching experience includes Latin language and authors (rhetorical prose, historiography, philosophy) and Roman literature classes. Research interests focus on ancient and medieval literature, philosophy and political thought. Author of articles for Bulgarian and foreign magazines and collections, four monographs, and the first Bulgarian translation of Aristotle’s “Politics”.
